Agile adoption in Large
Enterprises Date: November 26th, 2009
[7:00pm]
The demands on IT organizations of today continue to
grow. Software delivery professionals strive to provide increasingly
complex software to business users with ever tightening budgets and
timelines. How many large IT groups are looking to Agile/Lean delivery
practices to help address these challenges? Are any of these
organizations adopting agile practices to provide improved outcomes?
Deloitte has recently launched the Deloitte Lean
Extended Agile for Enterprises (LEAN) initiative in an attempt to evangelize
the use of agile techniques to our clients as well as to get an
understanding of how agile is currently being used by our client base. As
part of the LEAN initiative, Deloitte conducted a Financial Service
roundtable discussion dedicated to getting an understanding of what Agile
means to IT leadership within the big banks. The roundtable was attended
by select IT executives from the 5 major Canadian financial services
institutions from within Canada. Topics discussed included current and
planned adoption, value of agile, and how best to measure agile success.
Deloitte would like to share the results of this
roundtable (in an anonymzed fashion) with members of the Toronto Agile
User Group. We will present the results of an agile survey completed by
member of the roundtable an present a synthesis of the subsequent
roundtable dialogue. Deloitte would also like to share an overview of the
Deloitte LEAN toolkit.
